[GreenKeys] Problems on Proposed Autostart Frequenfy 10.133

Hi Bob & the Group,

We are thinking alike. Listening tonight, I see that apparently
frequency assignments to short wave stations in the 10.1 Mhz region are
every 5 Khz. So there is a powerful station on 10.130, 10.135, 10.140,
etc. These are several Khz wide so the spill over into adjacent
frequencies like 10.134, 10.136, etc.

I am looking at the various frequencies on a spectrum monitor on an Icom
756 pro 2 and I can see that there is a nice empty holes at 10.1375
(half way between 10.135 and 10.140) also, there has been minimal
interference on that frequency all day: no automated nets and only
occasional weak Pactor, no Helscriber.

A similar situation exists at 10.1275 although there is one heck of a
strong commercial or military RTTY station on 10.130 which might cause
problems to people without the most selective receivers (it's about 30
db over S9 !)

Based on that, I think our best bet would be 10.1375 . I will keep
monitoring to make sure the frequency stays clear and I will also keep
monitoring 10.1275 as an alternate.

Best regards -- Roy Norris, K4EEG

Hi,

What is the feeling on a frequency that is not a round multiple of 1
KHz? We might do better dodging to a mid point (say 10.137500 or
10.137600) ....

I have to do some antenna work before I can get much up and running. I
should be monitoring by this weekend.

	Enjoy!
