Thanks to those who replied. Only 5 of you but thats a start. What i'd
like to get from you is your machine line up.
There are to many variations of printers to provide wiring diagrams of
all and i probably don't have them all anyway. however this is designed
to be a "generic" which is general in coverage. Principles of
operation, adjustments, lubrication will all be the same. Wiring would
not be much different depending on what all is in the stuntbox or
whether there was something down in the bottom of the cabinet. More
than likely by the time these were turned over to ham use all that stuff
was gone. If your machine is now being used in ham rtty service, there
wouldn't be anything you would need from the terminal strip on the back
although if i can find a "generic" wiring plan for that i'll include
it. Keep in mind that Telco machines with WECO paperwork used detached
contact drawing symbols. I would think that any additions or changes to
circuitry for general ham use would be accomplished in the loop,
primarily outside of the machine. Unless of course you want to get into
the stuntbox and for most hams thats beyond the scope of what they want
to use the machine for.
I recently mailed a bunch of RTTY journals from 1976-1977 and 1978 to a
friend because they had considerable info concerning the UT-4 speed
converter that was part of W6FFC, Irv Hoff and Clyde K7WTQ who made the
boards. I think one of the magazines also had an article for an
Electronic stuntbox.
If your interested in more info on this i can probably either obtain it
or refer you to the party who now has posession of it.
So in summary, what i'd like to get from each of you is what equipment
you actually have. A printer, keyboard assy if you've got a KSR and how
your ASR is equipped. You should have a Printer, Keyboard, typeing
perforator (for punching tape from the keyboard) and a TD at the least.
If on the left side under the cover you've got a reperf that punches
tape off the line, let me know about that as well.
Accordingly packages will be different depending on what machine you've
got. I don't presently ahve a number as far as cost for this would be.
As of this time i've only had 5 responses.
If i've forgotten any questions or you've got questions, please ask.
