Jack,
TWX cut to dial with ALL 5 level machines in August of 1962. The
Navy TT-242 year is 1961... the machine that pre-dates the 32.
Production of the 32 about the time of the Cuban missile crisis; and
the 33 did not come until a little later about 1964/6. ASCII was
first standardized in 1963. Finalized in 1967. The very first 33s
had the ALT MODE non-parity keyboard... but not for long before the
ESCAPE key and even parity. So it depends on exactly what time the
movie is depicting.
