And a note to Tim-WO9U,
 Thanks for the display information. The kids at the place I work tell me
that the Freescale
processor line is the only one to use and that "PIC's suck". What do I know.
I'll bow to experience here and if
nothing else, chalk it up to youthful enthusiasm.
 Freescale seems to have a dandy web site and an overwhelming amount of
information available. I get the picture
that one does NOT just start a project like this in a "willy nilly" fashion.

I think the best way to start is to buy a little demo board. They appear to
be pretty cheap. I'll let the kids give me
a bit of guidance here.
 Anyway, thanks for the nice letter and your information.
