As the GPS receiver is only connected to the GPS standard with the PPS signal and not the GPS receiver RS232.  Many projects on the web use the GPS receiver RS232 signal for a clock. My setup there is GPS receiver to a PC running NMEA TIME software and the sound card output to several time code displays. I was able to get 3 Datum model 9300 at auction for about 150USD for my displays. I'm unable to detect any improvement by eye to connecting the PPS signal but the software will support this.

Subject: [GPS_Standard] LED Display

As the subject of LED displays has now come up I would like to make a
small request. Please could the display show UTC or the current local
time, perhaps selected with a pushbutton? Having an accurate frequency
source in the shack is nice but we all need an accurate clock as well.
