Hi Ernie,
You are the first posting so thanks for breaking the ice!
When the controller is started up, the system tries to acquire a lock. If
OCXO and GPS are oprational and the tuning slope of your OCXO happens to be
of the positive type (unlike the HP units) , the system will acquire a lock
by itself.
At initial startup, the parameters are set for a short sampling period
(S=10, I think) to allow to transition to a locked state faster. If your
OCXO is already warm and on frequency, it will transition to "L" pretty
fast. Remember that Locked does not necessarily mean stable and
accurate...The startup process and initial setup are described in Sections
5.1 and 5.2 of the User Manual.
Regards,
Bert, VE2ZAZ

Subject: [GPS_Standard] GPS standard software
Hello everybody,
Just a question about this software / GPS_Std_MonTrol / , when you first
power up your board but not having this software running on your PC, the
Board will be able
to lock the 10MHz OCXO autonomously or you have to set-up/load the PIC
with the appropriate data in order to lock the OCXO to the GPS 1PPS.??????
Many thanks and best regards,
Ernie.
