[GPS_Standard] Entering values into control window fields

Hello Folks,

A few comments:

Within the Montrol software, when entering a new parameter value in the
Control window, you must press the Enter or Return key when finished,
otherwise the value will not be sent to the system. The Enter is the only
way for Montrol to understand that you are finished typing digits into that
field. Makes sense?

As well, I do not recommend using Windows' Hyperterminal program. This
program has several flaws, one of which is not to send CarriageReturn and
LineFeed properly. Too bad, and as far as I know, they never fixed that. My
recommendation is to use Tera Term Pro, a free, simple and effective
program. Look for "Tera Term" in Google to find it.

Finally, when looking at the 10MHz output to evaluate its square wave shape,
use a 100MHz or more bandwidth oscilloscope. As you probably know, in order
to reproduce a decent square wave you need the fundamental and at least the
first four harmonics. A 40MHz Scope BW will not cut it, even less a 20MHz
one! 40MHz BW for a scope means amplitude down by 3dB at 40MHz. So the
rolloff starts before that figure. Scopes usually perform somewhat better
than their specs, but I still think it is not good enough.

Comments invited!
