[GE] Dumb question?

Hi, folks:

I have 2 Rangr mobiles...one low-band and one UHF, with S825 control
heads, cables, etc.

Today's question is: "are the control heads band dedicated?"

I can't see any difference in the numbers on the ID tags, so
I don't know if each head is dedicated to a specific band,
or do they just store the data and load it into the radio?
If the latter is true, then it seems to me that it makes no 
difference which control head I connect to which radio.

Sorry to ask such a dumb question, folks.  I'm a newbie
as far as Rangrrs are concerned.  The last GE I worked
with on a regular basis was a customized 8-channel Progress
Line with vacuum tubes, or, as some folks call them, glow-FETs.
