Hi from Pete Amar, KD4SPW.
I forgot to mention the upcoming March Of Dimes Walk-A-Thon in St.
Lucie West during the FPARC Net last night.
The Walk-A-Thon takes place April 19, 2008, with the start/finish at
the IRCC/FAU campus. It is just 2 Saturdays away.
We can use plenty of Amateur volunteers this year as they have changed
the route back to what it was in previous years.
This means it will again travel along the North side of St. Lucie West
Blvd. There are 2 traffic light intersections to cross, with the most
dangerous in front of Walmart.
The Walk is a lot of fun, especially when we have lots of help. Some
ride bikes, some park along the route, and when we have enough people, some
stay at the start/finish to show an Amateur Radio presence.
Greg, KB4VVE, will likely bring the EOC CSV ambulance, as in years
past.
I invite everyone to attend again this year.
The walk should start at 8:30 am, with Hams arriving by 7:30 am or so.
Some of us will be there earlier to set up. It is a fairly short walk,
usually ending by 10:30 or 11:00 am.
Because of construction, we can't park and enter at the same location
as before. I will have to look at the location before then and get an update
from the MOD about access for the CSV.
Refreshments will be served.
Let's make a great showing this year.
Thanks from
Pete, KD4SPW.
