Here in Daytona Beach, FL we use a handicap procedure.
The winner has a five minute handicap for the next hunt and to lose the
handicap he/she must come in second or worse. Should that team come in
first again, in spite of the handicap, another five minutes are added to
the handicap. This continue until that team is second or worse.
You could use miles and/or time as the handicap. With you large hunt group
you could require third or worse to lose the handicap.
YES, there are sandbaggers! We now rotate the duty of being the hider so
that the winner does not automatically become the next hider. Lets
everyone hunt to win.
BTW.... Anyone coming to the Daytona Beach area will be welcome to hunt
with us. Check our web site... dbara.org or email me for info if you are
planning a trip to this area.
