[Fox_Tango] Q about matching FV-101B to earlier FT-101 models

I have a question about matching the FV-101B to earlier FT-101 models. I have
an FV-101B I am selling on EBay
(http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1343048131) and a
potential buyer asked a question that had me thinking about whether the VFO
would be compatible electrically and cosmetically with earlier non-E model
FT-101s. I don't know much about this collector's aspect of the series - my
VFO was used with a fairly late-model FT-101EE. I seem to recall seeing an
early FT-101 that was more of a blue color than the pretty "industrial green"
color of the 101E. I am pretty sure the VFO would be electrically compatible.
Any comments would be appreciated.
By the way I tried using a 14V 200ma #1815 bayonet light bulb on my 101 as a
meter light and it burned out in a couple weeks. I think all my voltages are a
bit high - I think my filament voltage is a little over 14V (out of spec for
the 6JS6C) and the plate voltage is 680V - and yes the FT-101 is wired for
117V but the electric supply in my area runs about 121V (thanks, PG&E - I
think a volt or two of that is RF hash :-)
Remember if a meter light burns out you have a spare in the RF input fuse, and
any old bulb with a volage and current rating lower than the original 16V
ought to work for that.
