[ForSale-Swap] Heath Seneca FS - sort of

Yes .. let's clear the air on this ....

It goes to the reason I bid on it in the first place. His description
leaves one to believe that it, at the least, wouldnt take a lot of
effort to get it on the air. I dont know what other people's definition
of "fairly nice" means .. but mine does not mean nice looks and nothing
else... And the price paid has no bearing on it. When I list an
item for sale, I at least turn the knobs and dials and make sure they
work. If I mean only nice looking on the outside, I do not say "fairly
nice" and leave it at that. If this guy has as much experience listing
items as appears, then he has to know
that to hams "fairly nice" is not going to cut it. I admit it.... I
wasnt as "suspicious" as I should have been...

I bought it because I have always wanted one and I was looking for one
that would work when I got it. I have lots of other projects that I am
working on now to restore them to air worthiness ... I was looking for a
Seneca that I wouldnt have to put much effort into.
Frozen switches, broken glass, and broken dial cords may not be a big
deal if you are not working on five other restorations ahead of it.. AND
if you have a manual. No manual came with it.
Have you ever tried restringing a dial cord without a manual to show you
how it goes?
Anyhow ... it may end up in the corner for some future year when I have
the other projects done ... and after I also get done rebuilding the
shack which I am in the process of doing too... It still comes
down to the fact that I dont think he was being completely honest.
When I list something on Ebay, I give a COMPLETE description. If a
tube is bad, if a switch is frozen, if a dial cord is broken .. then I
say exactly that. I dont go saying ... it is "fairly nice" ... except
if only the cosmetics are fairly nice. Then I say exactly that....
I have a couple of people who have said they have the time and the
willingness to put the effort into it.... and so it appears it will
likely find a home.... I'm even willing to take a loss and chalk it up
to lessons learned....
