Three years ago UPS would not accept an original carton that I was using to
ship a transceiver back to TenTec for repairs. They said it had to be
double boxed. I showed them it was an original carton as the equipment fit
perfectly inside the box.(It was the same carton that TenTec used to ship
the very same transceiver to me) I asked why they accepted this carton
from the factory and they won't accept it from me. The answer, "it has to
be double boxed."
I suspect that TenTec must insure their own packing and this relieves UPS
from some responsibility.
I took the same box to the Post Office and they shipped it as is and it
arrived safely. After I shipped it this way I called TenTec and they said
they would prefer receiving shipments from UPS.
