Gerry wrote to me directly and didn't send via the FISTS reflector -
but what he brings up might be valuable to others so I will address it
here,
The copy of the email sent to the FISTS reflector has nothing to do
with which email service you use!
I see from your message that my message has been sent out by the FISTS
reflector, but as I said - the standard settings are for the sender
NOT to receive a copy of his own posts.
I have asked for an acknowledgement message from the reflector.
Here is what the message says:
Your message entitled
Re: [Fists] pardon the test pse ignore
was successfully received by the Fists mailing list.
List info page: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/fists
That other than someone responding to my post is the only way I know
I've gotten my message through.
ALSO the default setting for a standard internet email list (old
style!) is to have REPLY TO go to the sender, not the group. To
respond to the LIST, you have to use "REPLY TO ALL".
That also has the advantage of sending a direct message to the author
of the email. I like receiving a direct response as my direct
responses don't get filtered into sorting "boxes" in my email program!
