Here's my input:

No Poll

No Poll that I'm aware of, that is. There may have been some subtle and
not well-publicized attempt to collect opinion within the Atlantic
Division, but if there was, I was not made aware of it. I have, in the
past and in recent months, E-mailed my Section and Division leaders
asking them to support any and all proposals which retain Morse code
testing at a reasonable and realistic level (meaning more than 5 WPM
for Extra).

I believe my Division and Section leaders would state that they
support the ARRL's "Restructuring II" Proposal. However, I suspect
that they would not be particulaly concerned to see Morse Code
testing zeroed out.

I personally think that the ARRL as a whole views code testing as a
potential barrier to both increased membership and new business for
their own products and publications and the ham radio equipment
manufacturers that advertise in QST. Follow the money, and you
will learn the truth.

Subject: [Fists] ARRL Divisions' Poll (NOT!)

ARRL promised that the memebrrs would be polled first. Division Directors
each made similar commitments to the membership. I would like to see which
 Div Directors polled the members.

Also as to licensing requirements, do you believe your Div. Director to be
in the pro-CW, ant-CW or neutral camp? Pro-dumbing, anti-dumbing, or
 neutral camp.

So, lets have a "check in" - Please state

 1. ARRL member? Yes/No
 2. ARRL Division or your state if you don't know the Div.
 3. Where you polled by the Div. Director? Yes/No

 CWLIST DE N5LF QNI K...

 I will start:

 N5LF
 ARRL Member (since 1976)
 Roanoke Div. -
 NO POLL

I believe the Roanoke director is Neutral to Anti- on CW and Pro-Dumbing
 down.

Roanoke Div Director said he got his snapshot of the division's members'
views from his e-mails. As to a poll, he said that one was on the web
site -- but I think he is referreing to the one that the bogus Web Page poll
the ARRL posted a few of weeks ago then withdrew when it was swamped my
anti-code multiple votes...by the same few individuals.

No one I have spoken to in my Division knew of any polling. Therefore even
if the Roanoke Division posted a poll, they didn't publicize it. However, I
do not believe they had a Division poll -- not even a request for e-mailed
 comments to the Div. Director.
