9/16/24: The meeting was called to order at the Wauseon Municipal Building Firemen's Training Room, 230 Clinton Street, Wauseon, OH 43567 at 7:30 pm by Bryan Patterson (KB8ELG). 19 members and guests were in attendance, introductions were made and the Pledge of Allegiance was given.

Treasurer's Report: reported by KE8ITJ. Balance and deposits reported. 
   
   - $303 spent on OSPOTA/FCARC 70th– under budget
   - Bill for Certificate of Good Standing for Non-Profit: $25 paid by KD8KBU. Motion to reimburse KD8KBU made by KB8VTJ and KC8HG. Approved
   - Motion to approve Treasurer's Report made by KE8BHW and KB8VTJ. Approved

Duplexers have been delivered and ready to be installed 

70th Birthday of FCARC was celebrated 9/7/24 at Harrison Lake State Park, North Shelter House during OSPOTA. 
   
   - OSPOTA occurred during 1400 UTC to 2200 UTC (10:00am to 6:00pm). All bands were covered:  80, 40, 20, 15 and 10 meters. FCARC results were the third best we have achieved since the inception of OSPOTA in 2017.
   - 70th Birthday/anniversary of FCARC celebration occurred at 1:00 PM, including presentation of a plaque of gratitude to WD8KRS by KB8ELG, interview including pictures from The Village Reporter, reminiscing by reviewing pictures throughout the years and camaraderie shared while eating delicious food and cake.
   - OSPOTA 2025 will take place at all three shelter houses at Harrison Lake State Park: Marzolf, North Shelter and Beach. These various locations will better accommodate band specific antennas and club activities.

 

To better accommodate members who have early morning commitments
   
   - Monthly meeting time has been changed to 7:00PM, still the 3rd Monday of each month at the Wauseon Municipal Building Firemen's Training Room, 230 Clinton Street, Wauseon, OH 43567 
   - Sunday Nets have been changed to 7:00PM, except Simplex Net which will remain at 8:00 PM. 
   - AR Newsline will be aired Sundays at 6:30, and Wednesdays at 7:30

 

October Ham and Coffee (portable HF) will be held Saturday October 12, 1030am to 1:00pm at the York Township Park, SW Corner of County Road 10 and E. 

 

FCARC 2024 Winter Hamfest will take place Saturday December 7 at Ruihley Park Pavilion 

 

2024 Christmas Party will be held at Wauseon Rotary Club Saturday December 28 at 6:00PM

 

Various locations for 2025 Hamfests are discussed, including AMVETS in Delta, American Legion in Wauseon, VFW in Wauseon, and other suggestions. No decisions have been made.

 

Wauseon Christmas Parade will occur Saturday November 23 at 7:00PM. Help is requested. Please meet at the Wauseon Chamber of Commerce at 6:00 PM. 

 

Dyer McDermott Building. Partnership with Crosley Automobile Club: FCARC 51%/Crosley 49%. Crosley not a 501C3. Many grants available in Fulton County. Complete support of the city (of Wauseon). No money would be needed for purchase. FCARC 501C3=no taxes. Electricity ~$75/month now.  Four County Career Center construction trades could complete interior renovations. Crosley Automobile Club Foundation/Wauseon Area Foundation. Questions: building inspected? Asbestos? Lead paint?

 

Proposed FCARC Scholarship: Nelles Roth College Scholarship for Electronics. ~$500/year. 50/50 raffle to fund? Will continue to discuss.

 

VE updates: Mike Kwiatkowski KE8YUJ attained Extra Class, Will Breneman KF8BVC attained General Class, and Tony Eich KF8CCG attained Technician Class. Congratulations!

 

Request extended for new net control operators. Thank you to N5XDM for stepping up to be a net control operator quarterly for Emergency Services Net.

   - Sunday at 7:00pm on the 3rd Sunday is the Emergency Services Net—147.195+
   - Sunday at 7:00pm on the 5th Sunday is the DMR Net on Brandmeister 3171544 (K8BXQ).
   - Weeknights at 10:30pm Bud's Midnight Madness Net -- 147.195+
   - Wednesday at 8:00pm Wednesday Night Net
   - Thursday at 8pm 6M Net -- 1st Thursday 50.400 AM, 3rd Thursday 50.125 USB, all others 52.525 FM Simplex

VE Testing: The club gives testing at 10:00 am the last Saturday of each month at the Wauseon Administration Building Firemen's Training Room, 230 Clinton Street, Wauseon, OH 43567. Saturday morning breakfast at the Delta 109 at 9:00 AM, in downtown Delta, OH.

A motion to adjourn was made by KE8VFR and seconded by KC8HDG all were in favor.  KB8ELG closed the meeting at 8:39pm
