[FARC] Fwd: 147.06

Santford,

I read the initial email & really didn't have anything to add. Except no one has touched the possibility of him using a different antenna to test his problem.

As I said during our commute this morning on the 147.060 machine, the probability that the problem was the repeater was slim to none. Others here have already brought up one of my points, that being his rig was at fault. So I don't need to go into that one except to say that it could be a wide open front end, as mentioned, or it could be that a mixing product is not being filtered properly.

The second point I made was that the problem might, in some way, be associated with the antenna. A simple test would be to bring another rig in, that does not show the problem at its normal location, to this location & see if it too now has a problem on this antenna.

Those two tests (different antenna, different rig) will pinpoint the problem to the rig or antenna.

Last point, has anything been changed recently? If so, there's you problem. In my experience repairing all sorts of things from cars, radios, TVs, and even software, or perhaps especially software, the last change, modification, enhancement, made before a problem is noticed is 99.99% sure to be the cause of the problem.

Kirk,

We are also on 145.75 for Airmail down here, we picked up the 146.610,
146.880 and 147.105 machines on .75 until we moved to commercial
radios and added filters.
