There is a document out there on KISS mode that was
published by the original authors of KISS.
You may read it here;
http://people.qualcomm.com/karn/papers/kiss.html
If we follow that document the great majority of KISS
issues will be resolved. Once that model is handled
correctly then you could start working on the BPQKISS,
CRC'd KISS and polled KISS, all of which are supported
by our FPAC switches and most software that handles KISS.
Once that is done then we can move on to the bastardized
versions which are proprietary in nature and are not
supported by all software used.
For more info on KISS you can Google "kiss protocol" you
will get enough info to keep you reading for a while.

To paraphrase my flight instructor;
"the only dumb question is the one you DID NOT ask resulting in my going out
and having to identify your bits and pieces in the midst of torn and twisted
metal."
