Hi
Whatever bbs software you are using sure works different than
mine. :-) . Most systems scan the info after the @ from left to right,
forward on the first match and mark the message as forwarded. Thus in
the example shown if a match was found in the route file for w4rp the
message would be forwarded to whoever is the destination for that route
(there should be only one). If no match is found for w4rp then #melb is
next. This is where things can get tricky as all the #xxx routing I have
are 3 characters, The #melb would not match and I would route the
message to fl where it may loop and get held for review. Guess we need a
master list to use.. ;-)
Remember the personal messages are scanned left to right and the first
match determines where the message is sent and it should be sent only
once. In aa4re bbs the route file must have the info in a descending
order - it scans top to bottom for a match. The following is an example
from my route.bb file:
"#NAP*\.F*" PMW 1 PMN
A message to Naples is first tried to be sent west to Ft Meyers, if this
does not complete in 1 hour it is sent north to n4xeo. Once it has been
sent to either destination it is marked as forwarded and deleted at the
next house keeping.
Bulletins are different in that they can be sent to multiple
destinations, thus @flbbs might have 2,3 or more destinations and gets
sent to all.
