This is how he has always operated, he will write something that looks good and
then he sticks the knife in, at various points in his writing, but he
has not changed
at all, if it ain't his way, it ain't.
Back when we were experimenting with IP over the ROSE network he fumed
against it big time, as I pointed out elsewhere he blocked IP on his NR (I think
it was X1J) nodes so we could not traverse them with IP. Back then of course
most of the switch/node stuff was TNC based, so you were kind of stuck with
what would run in the TNC's. Now as we moved to Linux based switches this will
but his words to the real test because we can and at least where I put
up a switch
will have all of the protocols available to play with, so that people
can use them all
As new ones come along and we get the pieces to add them we will do so.
His mentality is that of SEDAN, you just have not seen his claws yet,
but if you do
not run his particular protocol and flavor of BBS/or latest prefernce you are a
real dung heap in his view.

To paraphrase my flight instructor;
"the only dumb question is the one you DID NOT ask resulting in my going
out and having to identify your bits and pieces in the midst of torn
and twisted metal."
