[Elecraft] Is "break-in" needed for NiMH batteries

Chip is correct from my viewpoint, having been responsible for up to 3000 ni-cd batteries at a time, over a multi year period, itbecame very clear, very quickly, that following the recommended inital cycle at least once, and preferably twice, then followinga strict adherance to fully cycling once a month, would and did extend the battery life. In a high percentage, the extention was double, that of the life of not caring for it. For example, if the duty usage was such that the batteries were normally not cared for, then failed on an average of between one and two years, proper care, would extend that battery life by at least two additional years, and usually well into the third year. Some exceptions were noted, with no explanation offered, other than quality of material. And.. of course.. YMMV.

Have a great day,
