[Elecraft] K3: SP 2 switches back to SP 1 during RX in Split

Yes Richard, this has happened to my K3 several times, always when the volume is too high and a loud burst of audio occurs.

<<My friend Simon, HB9ATG has a strange problem: While listening in split 
mode, suddenly a relay clicks and the K3 switches back to mono, i.e. 
CONFIG:SPEAKERS 2 unexpectedly returns to SPEAKERS 1, without his 
transmitting or doing anything at all, just listening to the pileup. 
This can happen several times a day.

Has anyone noticed this before?
