[Elecraft] KX3 PBT - and K3?

On the K3 (probably common code with the KX3) the bandwidth knobs also seem to be ignored during transmit. I often use the K3 for PACTOR which is rapidly changing between transmit and receive. Sometimes I find I have not properly set the bandwidth before starting the PACTOR connection and need to adjust it on the fly. Other times, with weak PACTOR stations, I want to quickly change receive bandwidths to track the various PACTOR modes (which are changing real-time) to improve reception. Depending on the QRM, this sometimes makes the difference between holding a connection or not.
So, having the bandwidth knobs unresponsive during transmit and not optimally responsive at other times makes doing the above very hard.
I have a KX3 on order which I also want to use for PACTOR and other ARQ modes. Even with the one knob (KX3) vs two knob (K3) difference, I think my comments will probably apply to both radios.
The K3 is still my favorite radio, by a large margin.

Howie,
I may be able to make the control more responsive. Meanwhile, you might experiment with the NORM function as a means of switching between two different width settings. Holding NORM will alternate between the default (400 Hz in CW mode) and a "floating" setting that you establish.
