Ah, but I do have a Sub-Rx and likely no clue how to make use of it yet.
Also, I was not using the Cans but rather just the Bose Speakers. I'll
have to try the Heil cans .. might be a nifty way to hear the other
freq.

So, what then is the correct way to work CW split since I have a matched
Sub-Rx in the K3?

And replying to what Dick suggested that I and accidently pressed A>B, I
just now tried to make it happen and all I got was VFO-A became the DX
station where I w as listening. Thus A did then equal B ... where B was
the intended XMIT freq .. it was now the DX station AND also still the
xmit (bad) in a pileup

What I saw was B original was 8kHz up from the Dx and was my correct
xmit. A was the DX freq and where I wanted to RX.

Pressing "something", albeit the intended button or not on my part, put
B over A ... B was the TX (for split) and now A was also the RX, having
over-written the DX freq where I wanted to listen

confusing to write .. but I can't duplicate the results you lined-out
