Gents,

I have used this SGC-235 500 watt capacity automatic ATU for more than 5
years. It is fed by a small Icom and the SGC cube amp in the back of my
Landcruiser. I run an ex military whip of about 12 feet, also the normal 102
inch whip. I have used this ATU to feed dipoles on poles, to feed 40 foot
verticals and also long wires. It has done everything always without a
complaint.

If you demand Elecraft re-invent the wheel than perhaps they will. However
it is certainly not necessary for them to do so. This ATU is all you need no
matter what you want to feed and it will handle the new amp.

I will prove that as soon as my new amp arrives. But keep in mind those of
you with little experience, 500 watts out of 1 amp is no different than 500
watts out of another. You can also control the SG235 remotely by sending 12
volts up the coax to it and they have the small little isolaters to help
with that.

Have a look and lets put this thread to rest. 73, N2WL Bill
