[Elecraft] K2: No SPOT Tone

Hi,
 
I am battling to hear the SPOT tone on my K2. I know it is there because if
I set St L to 250 then I can just hear it, but it shouldn't be that soft and
should easily be audible at a much lower value. Any suggestions what I am
missing here?
