[Elecraft] New MAC owner - dumb question about installing K3 utility

Just a contrary point of view. The one benefit of keeping things together for these types of apps, is that if you ever want to uninstall it, all you have to do is drag the whole folder to the trash. If you arbitrarily move things around, then you are left with "leavings" on your hard drive that won't go to the trash with the app and which you will undoubtedly forget you have stashed away somewhere. Not that anyone would ever want to uninstall the K3 utility :-)
The bigger issue is that if you move the Help folder, the K3 Utility won't be able to find it, and thus the "Help" item on the menu bar won't work.

Although it is customary to place applications (executable bundles) in the system Applications folder, they can actually be put anywhere you want. Often I will put things in other locations just for the convenience of managing files -- often the Applications folder can get quite big.
