I'm not sure how many KDSP2 units there are out there.
I always try to questions if it's something I know about and no one else has
answered already, but I limit my answers to things and products that I have
in my hands so I can verify what I'm saying or, at least, speak from
personal experience.
I don't have a KDSP2 unit, so I don't respond to questions about it. I think
a lot of the "regulars" here abide by that rule too.
So it might be no more than a problem with too-few people on the reflector
who have the unit and the experience to offer a good solution or insight
into the problem.

There seems to be precious little help on this reflector for hints or trials
for noise reduction settings in the KDSP2. You'd think some help would come
straight from Elecraft but all's quiet on the Western Front. Someone might
even tell you the unit has been built incorrectly. 73, de Joe, aa4nn
"I have completed the KDSP2 and have installed in my rig. The notch and
skirt filters work very well, but the noise reduction seems to remove too
much of the voice highs (much more than I have experienced with other audio
DSPs). I have tried several settings of the BETA and DECAY, but the results
are usually poor. I also tried widening the audio filter skirts and the
offset of the crystal filter (modified to 2.5Khz) to compensate, but cannot
achieve satisfactory results. Anyone have suggestions for denoiser settings
or hints on what I am doing wrong? Thanks Dave VE6DRW"
