Roy,

I am also building a K2 - right now in the middle of Assembly II of the
RF board.  When I built the front panel I did not remove anything from
the LED diffuser.  I know there's that loose white film there; but I
left it on.  I believe that it is part of the diffuser and not to be
removed.

Anyway, when I put everything together after RF Board Assembly I ...
everything worked and looked great.
