Hi

It looks like your mono plug is shorting the dot/ptt line to ground. =
When the K2 has the PTT line grounded it switches to transmit and the =
MPU does not scan the front panel buttons until the K2 switches back to =
receive. I just tried it on my K2 and the radio will not recognize any =
of the front panel buttons with the PTT button held on the mike. The PTT =
and CW Dot line are the same.

I found the answer to the question I posed earlier and give it below=20
in case any other owners have the same problem.

The output lead from my keyer has a quarter inch jack plug on it and=20
so I use an adapter for the key socket on the K2. I had=20
inadvertently used a mono adapter (instead of a stereo one) and this=20
caused the MENU not to be enabled when I pressed the menu button. In=20
fact, with just the mono adapter inserted in the key socket causes=20
the menu not to be displayed.

As a matter of interest, does anybody know why this happens?
