I've had my extra ticket since 1963. When I took the test there
weren't any transistors on it.

So my ticket certainly is no guarantee of current technical knowledge.

Everything else was learned the old-fashioned way. Try it, blow it up,
try again, blow it up, go read a book, blow it up again, read it
again, see something new, try something new, blow it up again, go ask
some friends, realize you didn't know what a particular word meant, go
try it again...

I'm all the time running into something new. Been running into
something new for 40 extra years.

There's only two kinds of "extras". Extra dumb and extra smart. If
you're trying to learn, you can't be extra dumb.
