Even us old, curmudgeon, Amateur Extra "heavies" had to ask those very same questions (and a lot more) at some point in our careers.

Today, you have to ask the questions.  Tomorrow, you'll be able to answer them for others.  Helping the other person learn more so we can all have fun together, THAT's what Amateur Radio is all about.
