Hi Guy's...and Girl's..!

Name here is Andy, ...call is GM0NWI..and I live in the City of Stirling In
Central GM-Land..About 26 miles from the capital Edinburgh..and 32 miles
from
the other "cultural" city y'all may know...Glasgow... Perhap's we have
"worked" on the bands over the last 13 years or so that I have been a
"Ham"... If Not.!
"nice to meet you"...

I don't really know ..IF..I am "posting" correctly to this reflector,..I
hope so.. please excuse me if I am not, it is not intentional...tend to get
"sign-ups" for these
things "mixed up"...!!

I'm currently in the middle of "smelting solder", to coin a phrase used by
another "QRP'er" that you all may know...on my "baby"...K2 ..S/N 01324....
Yeah.!
I KNOW...it's "old" ...as far as serial numbers go...but I've left it so
long, due to many things in my life,...also I'm a believer (hello to all the
Monkee's fan's out there.!), in leaving projects like the K2 ..."till the
time is right"... That time has now come..and I've been hard at it, ..slow
progress I must admit, as this is the biggest project I've EVER undertaken,
but all the same I'm enjoying EVERY minute of it..!

I have a question for some of you out there, perhaps "common sense" ...but I
just wanted to check and make sure... I'm currently on page 15 of my
Elecraft
K2 manual provided with my kit..constructing the "Control Board"...doin'
capacitors...C11 to be procise... I have an "addendum" that came with the
rig...
where it mentions, that C11 ..instead of being a value of .001uf should
be a value of .01uf of which on both cases I have many of...

My particular question is... "Do I go ahead an substitute the said
capacitor for the value of .01uf" ....which I think is the correct thing
to do ....

This in my mind.."might" leave me a componant short...not sure on this
one...

"Pardon My Ignorance" on this one folks..!! I've done kits before, but have
never had to "substitute" a componant in a kit before, so "not sure" where
this would leave me in the final process...

Your thought would be appreciated... It's my first time on the "list" so
far...only "signed up" yesterday...so have missed a lot of the traffic..but
from what
I have seen today, it looks like "...it's the place to be..."

Many thanks everyone... keep up the great work...my thanks go out to the
folks at Elecraft for providing us all with such a fantastic kit to
construct ..I for
one am certainly looking forward to gettin the "antique" as some of my
friends locally call my "baby" ..."On-Air" as soon as I can..

Hope to "work" you all soon...
