[Elecraft] [GQRP] Do-it-all Kits

Regarding Elecraft providing the "perfect kit", thus not challenging the =
builder/users, I can only share how it has affected me: These superior =
kits have enticed me into A) building as many of the "precursor kits" as =
possible (I've got another transceiver kit on the bench, a few built and =
operating ones closet ready for action, and have plans to build several =
more), plus they have given me the motivation to head out on my own to =
homebrew from scratch. To paraphrase one of my favorite Elmers (at =
least through his many publications), "you build to gain =
information...gaining information is what we should be doing...then of =
course, apply it..." (Wes Hayward, W7ZOI) =20

It was because of Wayne and Elecraft that I've learned more about =
end-fed antennas than I ever knew before. I've learned more about power =
sources, Gilbert Cell mixers, low current drain on transmit and receive. =
I've also gotten rid of my fear for menu driven interfaces! :-)

Again, I believe some much of what we do, and the effort we put into it =
is not a result of external causes, such as the existance of a fine, =
creative company like Elecraft. Instead, it's what we allow our own =
minds to do, and how much we want to invest in our =
hobby/science/art/avocation.
