SRI to say that is not what I perceived at all. Vic, K2VCO made the =
resistor change from 270 to 180K. It sounded essentially the same on =
frequency. Moving out about 150 or 200 cycles, there was an obvious =
leading edge click on his signal. This click was not going to interfere =
with nearby stations because it was too close in, exactly as KI6WX (and =
K2AV) said. I am at this time leaving mine at 270K as it sounds better =
to me and I don't operate at 50 wpm. Perhaps something around 220 to =
250 would be a bit quicker rise without that click in there at all.

PS Worked an FT-1000 Mark V last night, he was 20 over, and clicks were =
atrocious. I could hear them on frequency, and could follow them off =
frequency for two khz. Ick. Gentleman said mine sounded so purdy he =
was going to send the Mark V back and build a K2/KPA-100 !
