[Elecraft] K2ATU L-C Board mating to Control Board

Hello Readers.
Couldn't find info in the archives, but the pins on P4/P5 do not seat 
themselves flush to J4/J5 , although
the instructions says
"Press the two boards tightly together at both ends and in the middle. 
Once the 16-pin connectors
appear to be perpendicular to the boards and ???seated completely 
flat???, solder all pins of P4,P5,J4
and J5".
I added the ? for emphasis.
This can't be since the bnc connectors does not allow the boards to get 
closer.
I have made continuity tests on all the pins and they appear to be 
connected electrically.

So.. is this normal? or have I gone astray.. Perhaps I should cut down 
in my Smirnoff intake.
