I finally had a chance to put the new KRC2 through its paces at Hamcon. At the
booth, I was demonstrating the K2, KRC2, and a stack of three transverters.

The K2 was connected to the KRC2's "XCVR" port with a straight-through, 9-pin,
shielded cable. (You can build this cable using parts supplied with the KRC2
kit, or buy one pre-made from Fry's etc.) The transverter control cable was
connected to the KRC2's "PC" port. I could have connected both a PC and the
transverters here, using the usual K2 to PC/accessory Y cable, but I didn't have
the laptop with me. Finally, the KRC2's relay driver outputs were connected to a
home-made LED display box that simulates relays being switched for antenna,
amplifier, or filter control purposes.

Everything worked flawlessly. When I changed bands on the K2, the appropriate
LEDs on the display box simulator box would light up. On transverter bands, the
correct transverter was also selected (50, 144, or 222 MHz).

As some of you may recall from a few years ago, we promised an "AuxBox" that
would decode the K2's AuxBus line and give you contact closures out. The KRC2
*is* the AuxBox, although it does a lot more, too (see the KRC2 web page for info).

Anyway, I just wanted to thank Jack (WA4FIB) for doing such a great job on this
product, and give you an example of how I'll be using it myself.

P.S. -- I think they're shipping now!
