One of the many "does a lot more" things is the ability for the KRC2 to
connect to a Kenwood radio and decode the bands. Until the KRC2, the only
way to decode Kenwood band data (for antenna relays and band pass filters,
etc.) was to connect a PC to the Kenwood and have software (typically a
logging program like TR-Log) output the BCD band data to the LPT port.
Then, of course, you needed a decoder to drive the filter and antenna
relays. The KRC2 eliminates the PC, software, decoder and sometimes a level
converter at about the same price as a decoder alone ... in a much smaller
package that EITHER the decoder or level converter! This is really cool,
and I'm not sure even the Elecraft folks appreciate just how cool this is
for contesters and others who are automating their station. I now have a
bunch of unneeded stuff to get out of the shack. Anyone want a couple of
IBS-1 decoders and an Array Solutions Level Converter??

I certainly second that! Jack has done an outstanding job.
