What an opportunity. Thank you!

This could be accomplished using a KRC2 to select the various relays  
that accomplish the switching. The KRC2 could be located close to the  
K2 and cables run to the relay box. Or, you might be able to mount the  
KRC2 near the switch box and run an RS-232 cable out to it, running the  
band selection function of the KRC2 in serial mode. You'd also have to  
run +12V out to the KRC2 to power it.

Either way, you could certainly accomplish all you need with the KRC2.  
And we have already done the PIC programming for you!
