Hi all,
Dave, W1EUY and I made a noble attempt to put together some ECN activity
tonight. Kevin (KD5ONS), our main man, and Sam (KL7V/5) were not to be
heard. So a couple old CW hacks (at least I'm old - not sure how old Dave
is) tried to see if we could hear some folks come out for the net in very
poor conditions. During it all, I think we heard:
1) W1EUY, Dave, in Boston running a Texas KW from his K2 somehow.
2) NA7Y, Bill, in Washington getting more than spec out of K2 #3413.
3) W1WCN, couldn't copy his name, and can't find that call listed. QRP
pirate? Said he was in CT.
4)W3JGG, Justin in FL running QRP from venerable K2 #337.
5) KS4VL, Randy, running 10W.
6) W0NTA, in CO, and that's where about all my copy here in Washington
ended.
Thanks to those brave souls who were patient as we must be in poor
conditions and low power. But please note, I could hear Florida on Justin's
QRP level!
I was going to try a QSY to 40 Meters. When I got there, my radio truly
lost it's mind for unknown reasons and rendered itself temporarily useless.
After all kinds of ATU "Init"s and power cycling, it finally woke up.
Thanks to those who gave it a try but couldn't quite make it. I know I
heard a couple tries I couldn't copy. I think Dave did, too. Hopefully,
we'll return to "normalcy" for the net. What's normalcy?
Thanks,
Bill
