[Elecraft] Real Hams will need the KXAT

I'm going to drag my feet a bit on this kit.  I went to the website and 
filled out the order form for the KX1 and all options.  With CA tax it 
came to $499 and change.

I'd love to build one and play with it.  But I'm not backpacking much 
these days and for portable my four-band K1 seems to get the job done 
nicely.  Sure would like to build the KX1; but I'm not sure how much I 
would really use it.

Plus I need a new HF mobile rig that will fit into the constraints of a 
new car (my 706MKII will not make it), so I'm looking at an FT-857. 
 With SSB-CW filters etc. that will set me back at least a grand.  But I 
know I will use it, since much of my HF SSB operating has been mobile on 
long trips (and I've put 10,000 miles on this car since March, sans HF rig).

Having purchased two telescopes, giant binos and a parallelogram mount 
for the binos in the last month or so  (egad, come to think about it 
that was around $4000), I'm begining to feel tapped out.  Then there is 
the just-announced Canon Rebel Digital SLR camera (300D in Europe) for 
$999 including a 3:1  zoom lens that I hunger for.

I'm in the "Too many toys, too little money" syndrome :-)
