Wayne and Eric has done it again!
This morning when I read the digest about the KX1 I rushed over to their
website to have a look at it. Guess what? Yes, I placed an order for it
with all options immediately, although I should be more careful with my
money, since I am retired. I guess I have to eat red beans for a couple of
months now.
Already when I bought my K2 a few years ago, I did see something like this
coming. I did not have this fuzzy warm feeling even when I bought the
KPA100 and KAT100.
Looking at the pictures I could only see one toroid marked L3, apparantly
mounted on the bottom side of the board. I guess the other ones are on the
bottom side as well.
But including the option for a paddle mounted directly to the trx is
absolutely fantastic. I only have one paddle, an MFJ Bencher copy, which
does not travel well to the beach.
This will be a nice thing together with my Buddipole to take to the beach,
since it has built-in batteries.
One really can see that Wayne and Eric likes outdoor operation, because
they have included almost everything that a backpacker might need. And with
the condx going down, 40, 30 and 20m is all one will need for the coming
years.
I am looking forward to more information i.e. the manual published on their
website, but I guess it is in the works. There is no mentioning about a
field test or has this already been done by some of you guys?
