Bob, did you first form the leads in a gentle 90 degree arc, and then =
secure
the transistor to the post with a screw so the transistor is parallel to =
the
board before soldering (pgs 53, and 54)?=20

The idea is for the transistor to be perfectly horizontal so it contacts =
the
thermal pad over its entire metal surface when the board is put in the =
case.
The case acts as a heat sink.=20

Completed my KX1 this weekend.... The shoulder washer for Q6 would not =
stay
in place because the transistor would lift off the post. Ended up =
securing
the transistor to the post using a small cable tie (around the post and
above the junction of the leads and the body.)
