Hi Michael,

Don't know about a "best antenna", but a couple of weeks ago I brought
my K2-100/KAT100 outside to listen to while doing some chores. There
were two pieces of wire coiled up on the picnic table. One was about
45ft. long, the other about 30ft. Put a connector on the longer one
and tossed the other end over a tree limb. Hooked the shorter one to
the ground lug and laid it on the ground.

After finishing my chores, I sat down to play radio. Worked stations
on all bands 80 through 10. Several European stations, Japan , and
South America in the mix as well as many state-side stations. It was a
barrel of fun.

I was amazed at how well this worked. Am going to use this setup this
weekend for JOTA. I think you will find this sort of setup light
weight and the results satisfactory.
