[Elecraft] K2 LCD question

Hello List,
 On the K2 LCD assembly step there is a diffuser element that mounts 
underneath the LCD itself... looking down at the Front Panel PCB are two 
markings ... on the left is D2 with a positive sign on the bottom hole, 
and on the right is D3 with a Positive sign on the top hole. On the back 
of the diffuser are markings A and K, anode and cathode ... which side 
of the diffuser goes to D2 / D3 ... in other words, I look at the 
diffuser as being a form of light emitting diode with the need for 
proper  insertion of  it in order for it to work properly ... I have 
reread the manual four times and at first it seems straight forward but 
I don't want to mount the diffuser in wrong if polarity is needed here, 
and the manual doesn't mention anything about proper  polarity ...??  
Can you help me out with this one?
