[Elecraft] First kit suggestions

I wanted to thank everyone for the suggestions about building the K2 both on
and off the mail list. I received an invaluable amount of information which
made me feel a lot better about getting started.

I am getting the new bench ready right now, which has my new Weller WSL
soldering station sitting there waiting (Oooooooh)..

I think I am going to use a mix of muffin pans and the cardboard trick. I
like the thought of getting all my values checked and placed on the
cardboard with notes before heating up the iron. For me the task of making
sure I have the right component is not something I want to deal with during
regular assembly.

So, I am looking forward to getting started and ultimately getting online.
We are using the K2 as a test for our next software product (see
www.callsignsoftware.com).
