Terry,
Those currents are not too high. It all depends on the options installed
and your supply voltage.
With 12.5 to 12.7 volts, you can expect a bit more current draw on transmit
than with say 14 volts at the supply. The K2 tries to produce the power
level that you have requested, and will draw sufficient current to satisfy
that request. Lower voltages will mean more current must be drawn to
produce a given power level.
