Andy,

Reading the mail and now I'm having one of those senior
moments... so - without wishing to start any flame wars <g>
... also realizing that I'm not a "dyed in the wool"
contester!!  - here goes!

Regarding type of Rig... seems we have basically two types of
rig to deal with; K1 and K2 with both running QRP (or
approximately so) and the K2/100 running (relatively speaking)
QRO.
IMHO it's more of an achievement to make QSO's under QRP than
QRO.

Of course we could get into the endless discussion of whether
5W into a 5-el beam at 60 ft is QRP and, vice versa, if 100W
into a ground mounted Ham stick is really QRO!!

The tried and trusted party/contest mechanism has, for a long
time, to distinguish between low power and high power when
tabulating results and deciding the awards.

I don;t know how this could be worked out but, it should be
possible to have a "fun" part where you can rag-chew, collect
States/numbers/countries etc., without the pressure of "Who
Won??" and, at the same time, have a "contest"  part -
compartmentalized (whew!) into a QRP and a QRO class. Separate
chunks of the spectrum for each??

Just a thought...
