All good ideas.

I hear all the comments and it seems like half the group prefers
more ragchew-y goals and half prefers contest-y goals.

I think a less -competitive- and more -fun- scoring level would
be something like this:

Participating class = <100 contacts = 1 point per non-FT contact
Next level = >100 contacts = 200 points fixed
10 points each per FT contact (per band)
50 points for battery power, less than full operating time
100 points for battery power, full operating time
(operating time is not necessarily full duration of contest, of course)

No extras for choice of rig, power (though K2/100 by battery is uncommon!)

This sort of scheme would give people the incentive of making at least
100 contacts, satisfying the competitive urge... Once you make 100
contacts, your score won't increase except by field testers, which
means you'd want to stick around and hunt for them. Hopefully it
would also encourage ragchews, because you have 24 hours to do
the 100 contacts to reach the plateau. There are 1000 different ways
of running a contest -- these are what I came up with. Just ideas!

I like the idea of sending only summaries -- we should be HONEST here,
it's a hobby after all. Less work for the organizer, too.

I haven't totalled my score -- but I had FUN, which was the goal, and
was very, very impressed to hear so many Elecrafts on the air. And
like other people, I'd like a repeat more often than once per year.
Thanks to all the organizers and EQP software authors, too!
