[Elecraft] K2 - KIO2 connected under power - now it is dead

Hi,

I built the KIO2 and it worked rigth from the beginning, as in good =
Elecraft tradition. =20

Then, I tried to remote the KPA100/KAT100 and as soon as I plugged the =
cable in there was a strange smell and nothing worked anymore. I am =
running on battery, so I think I plugged in under power.  Well, probably =
not a good thing but I did it. =20

Now, moving to the troubleshooting section:

- I cannot hear the crystal oscillator on the KIO2 (with an external =
general coverage receiver).
- Doing the Voltage checks, most of the positive voltages are 0=20
- I find that the main DC 12V wire J2-8 is 0 V as well.  Does this mean =
I nuked something on the control board? Where would I start looking =
here?=20


Any further ideas/tips are very much appreciated.  I sure hope, I get =
that running again for FD.
